This treasured property was the retreat of Bob Litchfield, author of the historical volumes Palomar Views I and II. It now stands ready to welcome a new family to begin their own chapters of adventure on beautiful Palomar Mountain. Eighty years ago, one of Palomar Mountain’s pioneers recognized the value of building to capture its peaceful, expansive views. Tucked among magnificent boulders, they created a much-loved and utterly charming knotty pine cabin where countless memories have been made around the stone fireplace. Step outside to an exceptional and rare backyard bordering National Forest, with sweeping vistas of Warner Springs, Lake Henshaw, and Cuyamaca Peak. A 500-square-foot deck and two stone patios were later added to enhance outdoor living and take full advantage of the setting. Power first arrived on Palomar in the early 1950s and has since been upgraded to 200-amp service, supporting two mini-split heating and cooling units. An insulated metal roof and new septic system have been installed. You'll enjoy the easy-care quartzite counters and the original vintage Western Holly gas stove, where many memorable meals have been prepared. The property is also equipped for Starlink service transfer. Though the cabin is tiny, it is mighty, with a walk-out basement and loft that sleep up to ten of your of your favorite people.
