Property Detail

Description

The classic California bungalow: a sun-filled two-bedroom, two-bath home on a quiet cul de sac. The neighborhood still carries something of 1920s Los Angeles with hillside streets, homes from a foregone era, and a sense that the locale was built one structure at a time, not planned all at once. Doors and windows open to the weather, and the city is just below..... This Mount Angelus property has a sensible layout, comfortable proportions and an easy relationship with the outside. French doors from both the primary bedroom and the kitchen open to a deck and backyard, where bougainvillea grows and a mature lime tree has been there long enough to belong.... Upstairs, beneath the roofline, is an attic space and considerably more storage than a house of this period usually offers. There's something about an attic, the way it lets you be home but not, outside of the usual life but above. .... One of the small tricks Los Angeles sometimes manages is making the city feel far away when it's just down the street. You can live in the hills with York close by is in one direction and Figueroa in the other plus restaurants, shops and all the essentials close at hand.
